In New Zealand: Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) regulate and control supplemental products.
Products classed as 'complementary medicines' fall into these regulations. Included in these regulations are products often known to users as 'nutritional or dietary supplements'
These are the only products that are legally allowed to make a therapeutic claim in advertising ie: 'energiser', 'weightloss', 'fatloss' etc..

Who is responsible?:

The FSANZ monitors on-line businesses and stores on a regular basis to ensure product advertising is correct.
